Every bird in ThatPigeon can have a public web page — visible to anyone with the link, with no account and no app. It is made for selling, for showing a breeder at the club, or simply for showing off a record.
Turning the public page on
- Open the bird's page.
- Press Edit.
- Turn on the Public switch in the edit form.
- Save.
That is it. The bird now has a web page at thatpigeon.app/b/{id}.
What a visitor sees
The public page shows:
- the bird's photo (if you added one)
- the ring number and the name
- the sex, the colour, the breeder
- the whole pedigree you have built
- the race results attached to the bird
A visitor does not see your personal details, the other birds in your loft, or anything that is not on the bird's own page.
Sharing the link
From the bird's page, once Public is on, press Share. The app opens your phone's share menu — send the link on WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS or email, or copy it to the clipboard.
The link is permanent. Update the bird — add results, fill in the pedigree, change the photo — and the public page shows the change straight away.
Turning it off
If you no longer want the bird visible, open the edit form and turn the Public switch off. The web page returns an error immediately; nobody can see the record any more.
The PDF and the QR code
When a bird is public and you generate a pedigree PDF, the document automatically carries a QR code pointing at the web page. A buyer scans it with their phone and sees the live record — with anything you have changed since the PDF was made.
A tip for selling
Before you share a bird you are selling:
- Fill in the pedigree across as many generations as you can.
- Add a good photograph.
- Fill in the race results (or import them from your Benzing files).
- Put the breeder on every ancestor that matters.
A complete profile sells better than a bare ring number and a "message me for details".
