You have installed ThatPigeon. Let's get your first bird into the app.
Create your account
Open the app and choose how you want to sign in:
- Email — you get a one-time code by email, you type it in, you are done. No password to remember.
- Continue with Google — one tap and you are in.
There will be a free month to try it, then a subscription. For now you need no card: there is nothing to buy yet.
Add your first bird
- On the main screen (the Birds tab) press the New bird (+) button in the bottom corner.
- Fill in the fields — every one of them, and what goes in it, is in the fields of a bird.
- Press Save and the bird appears in your list.
You can always edit a bird later.
Filter the list
Above the list are quick filters on status: All, Active, Sold, Lost, and so on. By default you see only active birds, so you find what you are looking for without scrolling past years of old records.
Add a photo
Open the bird's page and press the photo area at the top of the screen. You can take a picture there and then or choose one from the gallery. The photo also appears on the pedigree (if you turn the option on when you export the PDF) and on the public page.
Next steps
- Link birds to each other as Sire and Dam from the edit screen — ThatPigeon builds the family tree for you.
- Start a pairing for this season.
- Record a treatment or vaccination.
- Already have data in another program? Read the guide to importing from files.
